Dr. Manfred Krafft

Professor of Marketing

Manfred Krafft is Director of the Institute for Marketing and a full professor at the University of Münster, Germany. He is also an honorary professor at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Prior to his current position, Manfred Krafft held the Otto Beisheim Foundation Chair of Marketing at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He received his doctorate from the University of Kiel. From 2013 to 2016, he was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management. He also serves on the editorial boards of several leading academic journals.

He is known for his scholarly contributions in the fields of sales management, channel management, and CRM. His work has been published in journals including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Service Research, and Journal of Interactive Marketing. He was awarded the first Practice Prize of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science, received several Best Paper Awards, and the SEF/Neil Rackham Dissemination Award for actively fostering exchange between sales researchers and managers, as well as for his influence on the globalization of sales research. Manfred is a Fellow of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC) and the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF). His books on international direct marketing, sales management, and 21st-century retail have been published in French, English, German, and Korean.
